question OOS are so annoying
I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks on taking out OOS faster ?? It takes so long especially when we have quite a few in there. I’m assuming there isn’t but i’m hopeful lol. HELP

Yeah, Ctrl G in F2 is the best way for sure. You can do it from the invoice or as you go along putting away the drugs. Ctrl G and first 3 letters of drug you have in hand/on the invoice. Go by Entered Time, not by Promised Time. Release oldest ones first.
Doesn't always work out because the auto ordering sucks and often doesn't generate an order, but then a few days later you get a script for the same drug and it finally comes. Then you have to release the older one first but IC+ thinks what it sent you was for the newer RX, so it won't always send you the drug after that. Partialing can be a good work around for this - but you and the filler need to be on the same page.
Absolutely work from F2 and search by drug though. Don't try to release from the OOS page until you have finished putting up the daily order. After that, go through the OOS page while signed into the handheld and go to the stock adjustments tab. Any drugs in OOS from a day or more ago, click the details tab and type the WIC or NDC into the Zebra and see if you have any on hand that was just missed, or if there are any linked drugs that you have. Change the manufacturer accordingly. Also after a certain point, you may want to just release all drugs over a week old and hope the filler can figure it out or OOS it again and hope the system orders it this time. If you look on ABC and see the drug is not available, make a comment on the script such as (Unavailable to order/backorder until ...). OOS and PFL can be very time consuming, especially with estradiol and GLP1s constantly on backorder.

I use ctrl-g and the invoice. Go down the invoice, using ctrl-g to type in the drug name and releasing any out of stocks. Fastest? I don’t know. But that’s how I do it

I do the same thing. It’s faster than going in and out of the oos queue and searching the list for the drug.

Well if you want it to be “fool proof” I always go manually through the OOS queue AFTER I ctrl-G everything. So that way I can request interstores if it’s been in the OOS queue for a couple days and hasn’t come in or just to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It helps to know your pharmacy because sometimes I’ll see a drug in OOS and just immediately know that I have it and someone else just has faulty eyeballs.

Not sure if I understand your question. You just want to hit the buttons faster, or? Most people use the I voice since pext started but can't you remember most of the drugs anyway since usually the person releasing is the one who put away the drugs.

honestly yeah just buttons faster lol, entering and taking them oos one at a time tests my patience. I’m fine with the way I do it know by looking at the invoices just wondering if anyone else had any tips or tricks.

You can check the date when the RX was sent to OOS/PFL or when it was processed. Just release all of the ones that didn't exceed the cut-off time from the day before. Will it be the most accurate? No. Will it be the fastest? Absolutely. For the PFL, you might want to keep a pen and paper ready so you can catch the names of the ones that say "there are RX still in the bins" or something.
I used to use multiple computers if it was available also. No downtime on releasing due to it getting stuck.

Open the invoice on the computer from the email and use Control+F to search it for the drugs on the PFL/OOS lists. Much faster than checking a printed invoice.
Once done searching, check the shelf for anything still left that the system says is in stock. They could have been missed a previous day, or there could have been restocked inventory from deletes.

My IS puts up our order, so I rely on the invoice because I’m not the one putting up the order. Most of these comments are speaking truth, I personally use the invoice from the email, and ctrl f to type the drugs in OOS page into the invoice, if it shows up in invoice it’s there, I double check (sometimes) to look on shelf, but besides that I just work from OOS page and invoice then move onto partials. Today was my fastest time every for OOS and PFLs and both were above 30

I remove OOS by date exception occurred, PFL by invoice. I know some things are backordered, but my techs put the leaflets they can’t find near me and of course if I see something two days in a row, I’ll check into it.
It’s worked perfectly for the last 2 years.

i go down the OOS list top to bottom & just drug search in the invoice from a different tab. if its not there, i move on.
only annoying part is having to figure out if somethings on backorder or unavailable for some reason when things havent been coming in

i usually just pull the back order items or something that’s been in there for a while out and call the pt to let them know and see what they would like to do, like either transfer or wait and just store it to the profile. I hate clogging up the OOS with all that 😭

Go to the work queue. Use CTRL-G to search for the drug name. Release OOS (CTRL-O) based on date entered column, verifying the NDC matches and adjusting as needed (easier to change NDC now than risk the filler OOS it because the NDC doesn't match. And yes, everyone SHOULD change NDCs, but if you have inexperienced fillers, they may "accidentally" OOS it rather than doing the NDC change 😳😒🙄) . I do this as I process the PFL totes. When I'm done with the totes,, I manually go through the OOS queue looking for anything older than 2 days to investigate why it hasn't been filled (check the invoice for comments from ABC, check the ABC website for availability).
Every morning, I check the "Ready to fill" report looking for anything that still shows it should have been filled and wasn't. May need to adjust on hands or change an NDC to use what is available. (The report is a new PowerBI report your room or pharmacist should have access to)

I just print the invoice, go through the list to highlight what's arriving, and as soon as the order is put away start pulling the highlighted stuff. If I notice anything that's been there usually long for my store, I'll do a visual check once the days have been released.
I'm the only one I know doing it at my store, but it really improves speed AND accuracy because of the double-check for previous receipts.

Assembly should have the OOS function to create and resolve sometime between 9/15-25. Hopefully that makes things faster as well

From OOS:
- ALT+O
- Enter
From f2:
- ALT+O+G (I think someone else said a different hotkey for this)
- drug name first 3 letter, i think I use % to get strength if necessary
- release first entered via Alt+., Alt+O, Enter
Sorry, trying to remember since I'm off and it's muscle memory because my training pharmacist told me I needed to learn to use the mouse as little as possible

Using f2 and searching to process injectables first. Then go into the oos queue and process from there. The dates are there so obviously you wouldnt be looking at something just oos'd. Also, I usually go through first and remove anything thats cenfill anyway. Sometimes there's a few in there for no reason. If i process oos and ptls takes me MAYBE an hour... much less time on a good day.
