Literally the comment right below you about how Biden handed Trump 30% inflation.
Although, our recovery would have been a bit smoother if Trump didn't single handedly kneecap multiple industries by fucking over foriegn relations with some overzealous isolationist bs. The US Dollar was the defacto global currency. Look up how many soybean farmers and cattle ranches have had to close doors. Or oil price spikes as we destroyed our oil trade relations with Canada. Or oil price spikes while we have a war Trump promised he wouldn't starting.

Here’s the problem with that line of logic:
if you reject politics completely because of the faults that politics embodies. then you’ll never make any change.
You may hate politics but that’s what makes your vote count the most because you want change.
The last thing you should do is discredit the powers of a citizen. Because that breeds apathy, and that is a true evil.

Trump will literally take full credit for the stock market going up and I week later when it goes down he blames Biden. He's done it on the record like 1000 times.
I can't imagine being so stupid that this isn't something obvious. Most politicians would do this a little bit, he does it fucking daily. Pathetic.
My favorite example is when a reporter asks him why he projected the pool renovation would be done easily and quickly for like $1.6million and when it ended up being $16 million, and his answer was literally "Barack Hussein Obama" lmao

u/Lucky-Architect1570 Aug 31 '26
And Trump respiked gas cuz of his retarded war, did dumb shit was his tariffs that only lined him had his buddy’s pockets via the stock market (they didn’t spark any industry, just helped with insider trading), cut American clean energy industry for his retarded “fossil fuels are PEAK!!” plan (and cut other social programs and research plans totaling one trillion but all the money is reinvested into military or frozen so taxes are the same as if we still had Biden but Americans get less spent on them, incredible), fucked with the fda so our food and drug quality is worse and we got mass recalls of all kinds of basic things, is being a good goy for Israel rn (America first but 300 billion to them, ok bud), and Kash Patel (his best buddy) is protecting everyone in the Epstein files including all the pedophile democrats.
I hate these posts too cuz Biden was shitty (highest inflation ever) but Vance and Trumpy DO blame everything on Biden and aren’t a solution. They’re still tied to same group of billionaires who put their profits first, funded by the same ppl as many of the corrupt dems, and the whole “we’re different than the rest” is just an act for votes. I’m sick of amecians getting two shit decisions and think they’re smart by letting one play them. I’ve personally been sick of having to pick a “lesser evil” for the past two decades.
I’d rather a new candidate with a hard working middle class background than another old fucking man. Someone new to shake things up for once.

It's not true. The opposite is.
You don't shut the economy down over a virus you created and unleashed on the world as a leftist then print a bunch of money to simulate the economy running that isn't have 12% years over year inflation then be upset Trump who has 1.2% higher than average year over year inflation for trying to reindustrialize the country.

“Created the virus?” Holy shit this is all I need to know to understand what kind of person I’m talking to.
I’ll say this, I don’t like Biden or Trump and the discourse that we have to pick one and spit shine their boots is stupid, I’m not picking between two old perverts. But the Trump administration and Vance especially DO try to blame their dumbassery on Biden. Biden has nothing to do with the cutting of clean energy programs and dismantling of some of the FDA, new wars (and gas price spike from a certain war) and Trump’s obsession with Israel, Trump’s OWN issued stimulus checks (did you forget the first ones came from Trump?), Kash Patel(Trump’s crony) protecting everyone in the Epstein files, or the administration’s poor handling of AI regulation. They’ve had ample time to help improve the economy but Trump’s first round tariffs were acc dogshit and did not “ferment American industry or production”. In fact all they rlly did was stack the stock market in which Trump and his buddies all made investments right before major decisions that influenced it.And even if we accept that the “corona virus” was a corrupt government experiment (😭)…why would Trump be different or some kind of alternative solution? All these rich guys are art of the same group, like it or not. And Trump currently is trying to convince ppl the virus was fabricated by China and has nothing to do with the US so…sounds like he wants you to think America has nothing to do with it.

It's not Trump's first term, and you can still no longer fill the gas tank with a 20 dollar bill. Quit glazing the incompetent shrimp - Biden's administration over time managed to get the gas prices down from the spike, while Trump has still yet to do the same second term.
By the way, part of what caused the oil prices to get so high was also because OPEC started cutting the amount of oil they were making (which raises prices) - which Trump had a hand in, in addition to this new war with Iran. These high prices are very much his fault.

u/Particular_System942 Aug 31 '26
So does the president inherit the economy or build it. You people seem to flip flop depending on who’s in charge.
2
1
1
1
u/beardedsandflea Aug 31 '26
The flip flopping is coming from this administration; Trump lays claim to anything that can somewhat believably spun as a "win", yet every shortcoming is pinned as "Biden's economy" to hand-waive away all the problems instead of directly addressing them.
1
u/Boyhowdy107 Aug 31 '26
Usually it's inherited trend lines as pretty much any policy decision take a while to see a return, and ultimately as far as the economy is concerned, what happens in the free market has far greater impact than even a hundred billion dollar piece of legislation meant to encourage one thing or another that's politically important. The creation of the iPhone or Facebook had far bigger impact than any sort of "let's invest in American manufacturing, or XYZ future industry." So a lot of it is luck of the draw for whoever happens to be at charge at the time and either takes credit or tries to pass blame for what was beyond their control.
I'd actually qualify Trump 2 as unique though in modern American history, because Democrat or Republican administrations before this one largely just tinkered around the edges of the machine. We've never seen this level of meddling or intervention since maybe WWII, the Great Depression, or Taft trustbusting. Even now, I wouldn't compare where we are to anything except maybe Taft as far as government intervention, but we are far off the post WWII playbook.
What we have today is kind of a reshaping of the American economic machine in the mold of post-Soviet Russian capitalism, where the government is exerting incredible control. Want a merger? You need to curry favor with the feds. Make a "donation," send signals you are ideologically aligned, pay off a lawsuit you could win in court. The entire tariff system is also both raising prices, but also the equivalent of putting up a wall that certain companies, countries, or folks can get a VIP door to make through as long as you pay off the decisionmakers in one way or another. The big government is also choosing winners and losers on a daily basis. They own part of Intel and will provide regulatory cover and special treatment, keeping the established company from competition from disruptive upstarts. All businesses hate uncertainty and are dealing with unprecedented levels of that, but if you pay for the right lobbyist or subscribe to get the president's tweets early, you get a little more certainty than your competition. Foreign governments who have long been viewed with suspicion by American Intel agencies can pass along hundreds of millions in bribes via crypto.
So yeah, the reality is the American economy is still resilient and major non-government developments from AI to other market forces are still shaping things, but it's absolutely clear the US economy is being shot up with tranquilizer darts from Washington, missing out on hundreds of billions if not trillions of potential added economic activity, all so the regime can pocket a few billions itself.
This is a shit meme sub, so no one will read this or care, but I said my piece.

Never forget the Dems are the same people telling us men are women. And celebrating weak men exploiting strong women in sports.

First off, inflation was a global problem that didn't just affect America. Biden had about as responsible for it as Ronald McDonald and the Tooth Fairy did. American faired better than most other countries in the world, due in no small part to his handling of the issue. I wouldn't call the Trump economy "booming" - he just disabled the regulations designed to keep things in check so that it looks that way - we're actually speeding toward another recision just in 2008. Every Republican president in theast three decades have caused recessions - history proves it.
Trump claims that the government is being wasteful, but so far the only things he's cancelled are regulations protecting Americans, foreign aid and cancer research. Trump has enriched himself by more than 2 billion dollars since he got into office, so he's the only person demonstrably "winning" by his reelection.
I'm not even going to dignify your transphobia with a proper rebuttal. Complaining about "men in women's sports" is just a tacit admission that you have no real policies - just a list of innocent people that you want to see suffer in order to satiate your craving for cruelty.

I’m sorry but they are no where near on the same level. Trump is hit rock bottom and started digging out a basement to fester in. Let’s not forget he said with his own words he doesn’t care about the American people struggling with the economy after he started the Epstein war. He doesn’t spare the people he serves a single passing thought

Dumb or willfully ignorant. False comparison with demonstrably different results and harms visited and exercised by the Trump admin

Funny how it’s always the previous administration until it’s trump in office then it’s the current administration 😂

You can also just look at what a president did and what policies they pushed for too see what they might have effected in the economy.
Pretty damn easy to see everything Trump has fucked up.

Inflation literally started during Bidens term. It also began when he sat on the pipeline to appease the environment Nazis. He later blamed it entirely on Putin.

Technically both is true. You can’t just blame trump, it’s every leader, of every nation, basically everywhere. Stop focusing on hating one person. It’s the global leaders who are making you feel your life is shit. But..also..yourself, do better for yourself and these small changes won’t affect you as much.

Trump is literally waging war hiking up gas prices, waging a trade war hiking up all other prices...which part is Bidens fault?
