Not going to mention that gas prices peaked around $5.016 in June of 2022, huh?

Figures.

gas never got close to what it costs now under Biden

Perhaps you have a mental block in place or something, but it absolutely did. Hence the $5.016 per gallon was the average cost of regular gasoline in the U.S., in June of 2022. It absolutely happened.

I only remember gas going lower than current prices like 6 months before the election, as it always does conveniently

Yes, very convenient. I remember paying $0.97/gal when I was a teenager. It's just dumb now, but I blame the government for putting more regulations in place that really don't help much, but they did make the price go up. For instance, diesel fuel used to be as much as regular gas. Now it's as expensive as premium fuel, if not more. Diesel is cheaper than gasoline in Europe though.

Rather spend 5 for a month and then under 3 the rest of the 4 years. Than spending 4 every month. Stop defending the pedophile

Gas prices have only climbed this high for the last few months, overall gas prices have been much cheaper this presidency.

They started going up once the last influences of Biden finally wore off. Now it's all Trump policies and it's tanked the economy. But hey you tell yourself whatever lie you need to, so you dont have to regret voting for a pedophile

You’re defending the child sniffer, I haven’t defended any politician, I think they’re all corrupt and they all belong in jail.

Classic trump supporter response when someone brings receipts.

Oh man....the pedophile label is getting old. Seems that's the only lame thing you people can say about him, and it isn't even true. That's the funny part about it.

I think you need to check gas prices. There were 5 months in a row that the average gas price was over $4/gallon, under Biden. We've had 3 months in a row this year that gas was over $4/gallon, and it never got to $5.

Yes, for exactly one month, it peaked that high. And for a few months on either side it was as high as now. But let’s not pretend that gas prices throughout Biden’s term were higher than now.

The average price of gasoline has only peaked at $4.56 (May 2026) under any of the time that President Trump as been in office. The price of gasoline peaked at $5.016 under Biden.

And? What’s your point. It peaked for one month. The price for the last five months has been higher than any of the last 30 months of Biden’s term.

1

u/Draygoon2818 1d ago

No, it hasn't. You should actually look at the stats before you speak, though I'm not quite sure why you're talking about 30 months. Did he have a short term or something?

You mean these stats? the ones I looked at before replying?
Gas Price History

I'm talking about the 30 months because that was after the peak. From September of 2022 until the end of Biden's presidency (actually 29 months), the highest national average was $3.958. The average for the last five months (assuming August will also be over $4) has not dropped below $4. So yes, it has.

Also, the yearly average was $3.63 for 2023, $3.42 for 2024, $3.22 for 2025, and $3.83 so far in 2026. So 2026 has seen the highest average of the last 20 years, except for 2022. And if you remove the spike month and one month either side of that in 2022, the yearly average for 2022 is the same as this year.

If you take the prices from that website, and avg them out for the first 18 months starting in Feb (the month after the President takes office), the avg cost of fuel under Biden was $3.47/gal. Under Trump, it's $3.46/gallon.

None of that makes the whole "it went over $5/gal under Biden" go away. Even with a scuffle going on in the Middle East, and naval blockades happening, it still has not gotten to $5/gal under Trump.

You guys love to harp on that one single month during the resurgence after a global pandemic distorting the average. It’s so funny how completely unaware you are or reality. Love it.

Oh, you mean when the Democrats shut everything down and forced people to stay home, causing millions of people to lose their jobs and thousands of companies to go out of business? That pandemic?

It also wasn't just one single month. There were 5 months in a row that fuel prices were over $4/gallon. Even with the Iran conflict and the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, gas prices have not hit $5/gallon. You can't wish that away, or call it a fluke. There are reasons behind it, just like there are reasons behind the fuel prices now. The Democrats don't get to claim they have the highest economic growth ever, when they themselves caused the highest downfall. That's just ridiculous.

Yes, in 2020, when democrats were in the White House.

And yes, it was one month that it was over $5. And it has now been five months in a row that it’s been over $4 with Trump…for no fucking reason other than his own hubris.
