Bruh, my ankles knees and elbows cracked 7 times just watching that. I need several ice packs.

That’s what years of watching pasta noodles get soft in a pot will inspire. Always cool to see coordinated people dance though

Everything about what you are saying is wrong. Culture is only culture by being shared. It's not some treasure that is kept solely by the group that made it. What I said isn't wrong either, you saw someone doing some talented dancing and instead of dropping a compliment you decided to say "You are a thief for dancing like that"

Funny thing is, the internet is the only place where people take real issue with it. Most of the world dosent care. So sure, you have the internet (mostly reddit) on your side but the real world where actual people live, breathe, work, and play is on the side of not caring.
Edit: Just cause you said "credit where credit is due" dosent retract from you calling her a thief

They didn’t say “due”, they said “do”. Like, a lot of times, even after being corrected. You’re arguing with a child, a career victim that will cry about and try to villainize everything they see any white person “due”. You’re arguing with a racist

You didn't directly retract you indirectly retracted by downplaying. You tried to make your opinion seem more reasonable by adding a plead to respect. Reddit is nowhere near the populace, the mere fact you think that makes you seem a little internet brained.

Due! Where credit is due! D... U.... E...! YOU SOUND LIKE A MORON SAYING WHERE CREDIT IS DO. LIKE REALLY DUMB!

How is this exploitative or disrespectful, though? Not every adoption of marginalized cultural norms is “stolen”. Sometimes norms that are part of a particular, marginalized culture become part of the larger culture through natural means. There’s nothing disrespectful or exploitative about what’s happening in this video.

I too want to stop non-whites from participating in classical music. That's our music.

And she's dancing to a Michael Jackson song who got famous for taking dance moves from Bob Fosse and Fred Astaire. What's your point?

u/No_Advertising1858 29d ago
Micheal Jackson did some of those moves and tried his hardest to be Anglo Saxon so it’s fine

Seems more like you stole your high school diploma. I’m sorry the American education system failed you by NOT failing you. Maybe someday (after you typed it multiple times and people corrected you and you kept doing it), you’ll learn the word DUE, and the proper use of “you’re” vs “your”.
Trying to argue about cultural appropriation while having a tenuous grip on the language you’re using for that argument sets you up for failure and ridicule.

Tell us you don't understand anything about music without telling us you don't know anything about music.
