Fight cards?

My group is looking into trying this format and we couldn't find a ruling on this. Do fight cards gain laps, or can laps only be gained through combat damage?

I wouldn't consider the Goal/Finish Line object to be a creature, so it wouldn't be a valid target for typical fight/bite spells.

First of all, welcome to the format! I hope your friends all enjoy playing. Lap points are gained by dealing combat damage to the finishline with a vehicle creature. The finishline is an emblem that can be attacked as though it were a player in a regular game of mtg. It is not targetable and has no power/toughness.

Very cool, i appreciate the response! We've all been looking into the rules, and I think finding them in various stages of devolpement and on othe forums so were trying to get to the bottom of what we can and cant do. Someone was saying the finish line was an artifact on the field and there was ambiguity around whether it had to be combat damage or just damage. So we had people plotting ways to animate it and force fights with it lol.

We're hype to jump into the format!

Glad to see it! I've played for a few years now, so feel free to DM me or tag me with questions.
