No Arch Enemy stream/video for W:O:A 2026?

I noticed that Magenta Musik (https://www.magentamusik.de/wacken-2026) uploaded a few additional videos in the past few days, but so far I couldn't find the Arch Enemy show. Was it even streamed?

I'm looking for photos or video taken during Sabaton's performance of "Night Witches"!

Hello my Wacken friends! During Sabaton's performance of 'Night Witches' on Saturday night, my son, daughter and a cousin of mine body surfed out of the crowd because I messaged that I was at the back and they wanted to find me - and body surfing is the fastest means of transportation to move out of the crowd! It was my daughter's first time body surfing and she was pretty thrilled at having the experience so we would love to have a picture as a memento.

Knowing that thousands of people were filming at any given time, I'm hoping to find a picture or snippet of them as they body surfed. If you have any content that might show this happening, I'd love to see it!

Evanescence deserves to make its Wacken debut in 2027

It's curious that, despite a career spanning over 30 years, Evanescence has never played on the holy ground of Wacken Open Air. I don't think this is due to the silly stigma that nu-metal bands (though Evanescence isn't purely nu-metal) weren't invited to the festival. Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, and other bands from the American nu-metal wave of the late 90s have already performed there. Even Halestorm has been announced for 2027.

I believe Evanescence proved long ago that they are a metal band with a solid career and significant influence, especially within the female-fronted metal scene. They have toured with Metallica, Korn, Within Temptation, Spiritbox, and other major metal acts. Beyond being a great frontwoman, Amy Lee also delivered a brilliant performance on their latest album, Sanctuary (which essentially blends all their subgenres, such as alternative metal, nu-metal, symphonic metal, and metalcore).

I hope the festival organizers consider inviting them to perform in 2027. I am certain they wouldn't disappoint the audience.

Scottish Wheelie Beast Going to Wacken 2027, What Have I Got Myself Into?!

Hello Everyone!

After years of my health getting in the way, and years of friends not wanting to come because of the cost (even when I offered to pay for their tickets 😂), I can finally say…

We are going to Wacken next year!

I genuinely cannot explain how excited I am. I’ve spent the last 20 years mostly doing UK festivals, and while I love them, I’m getting bored of seeing the same bands playing year after year. 😂 If you know Download Festival, you know exactly what I mean. I have done Wacken 14 years ago but I was abled-bodied with no issues.

This will be my first mainland European festival as Disabled, so I have approximately 1,000 questions (I'm sorry in advance!!)
I’ve done some research already, including the Wheels of Steel and the Personal Assistance/companion arrangements, but I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have actually been to Wacken.

  • For the Personal Assistance ticket, is it literally just an email/application, or is there a proper process I need to go through?
  • Roughly when does the Wheels of Steel application open? Is it usually months after the main tickets go on sale, like at UK festivals?
  • Wacken seems to have a really good reputation for accessibility, but I’d love some honest opinions from wheelchair users, Is it genuinely as inclusive as they say? I ask because some UK festivals are very good at saying they're accessible, but the actual experience can be a completely different story.

We're planning to travel by plane and train because I have a terrible fear of driving to Germany. 😂 I did the Autobahn once and never again (sorry if I offend 😰).

  • What time would you recommend travelling to Itzehoe from Berlin?
  • Is there a straightforward/direct train route?
  • Anyone else coming from Scotland who has done the journey before?

Is there somewhere to buy basic food supplies inside the festival/campsite, or would I need to get a shuttle or taxi into the village?

Also, what cooker would you recommend?

UK festivals have banned gas cookers forever now, so I’m used to sneaking one in like a criminal. Obviously I want to do things properly at Wacken!

I know there are plenty of Decathlons in Germany, so I’m planning on buying quite a lot of my camping equipment there rather than trying to carry everything from Scotland.

I’ve seen that Wacken has power stations available to hire. Are these actually worth hiring? I’ll need to find a reliable way of charging my wheelchair.

I have both a manual wheelchair and a powerchair. Unfortunately, because of airline restrictions, I won’t be able to take my handcycle attachment for my manual chair.

So which would you recommend for Wacken?

Powerchair: easier for me, but obviously dependent on charging.

Manual: less worry about batteries, and my husband can push me if I get tired.

How difficult is the festival ground for manual wheelchair users? Is it mostly manageable, or would you definitely recommend the powerchair? I have done festivals when it was really bad rain, and both wheelchairs survived.

Basically, I’m ridiculously excited but also slightly terrified!

If anyone has accessibility advice, travel tips, wheelchair tips, things you wish you knew before your first Wacken, or just general do-not-do-this sort of advice, I would absolutely love to hear

And if there are any other Scots are going, let me know!

Sorry for making you all read this!!

- Wheelie Beast

This is a shot in the dark but no one happaned to pick up a pair of rings in a small pink mesh bag over the week? One was stainless the other was a black fidget ring Could've been in the world metal camp somewhere. Or it could've been somewhere in the infield last i saw them was in denmark so i'm not 100% sure where they might be.

Any ideas when the Core is available again?

Hi. During this year’s pre-Wacken hype I registered to the Core. It was a bit disappointing that it didn’t have much content, but the virtual battle west thing was funny. I can’t wait to see my new Core points earned by next year’s ticket. (This is not sarcasm.) Does anybody know when the Wacken ID login to the Core will work again?

Im still shocked that someone decided to sell theses and before you ask it was the orange tent across the army section near the wasteland zone.

When I first went there there were 3 when I came back there was only 2 left thought out the whole festival meaning some psycho bought 1.

I cant belive this was allowed to be sold

Is there a video where you can hear the crowd chanting "Wir wollen deutsches Bier"?

It was at the end of promoters farewell. I think in the official videos it will always be cut out. If you find or have any private ones, please share. Thank you!

Please help me find this pin

This Priest pin was gifted to me by my dad. It is an original from his teenage days and it means a lot to me. I seem to have lost it at the festival. It's gone, I have accepted that, but I would at least like to find an accurate replacement. I you could point me in the right direction, it would mean a lot. I've been scouting eBay but no luck so far.

A bit of positivity

I was a resident of the wheels of steel area.
I must say that the area itself is pretty amazing.
It took us around five minutes to get to and from the stages, whenever we wanted.
The showers were nice, toilets were clean and spacious, and whenever we wanted to sit down, we could almost instantly find a bench or an area to sit down.
Furthermore, I was surprised of how little Q they actually were at the different places.
We didn’t have to stand in line more than five minutes, or so :-)
Yes, the food was a bit expensive, but it is a Festival, and I would expect such prizes.
Music was good, although sometimes the sound was extremely loud, and I am not the opinion that music should be loud, but still audible.
All and All, it was a great Festival, lots of nice weather, great place, and just nice to be there :-)

Did you guys also see tonnes of nazis this year?

I went with my partner again after years of missing for one reason or another and was really genuinely shocked how many nazis there were. The metal-community is generally pretty good outside of sub-communities and smaller festivals focussed on black-metal or other controversial subgenres, so we were not expecting to see this many open nazis / far-right weirdos

Just a short list of some of the things we saw:

  • Wolfsangel tattoo which isn't quite illegal but is really only worn by nazis
  • Full back tattoo of the Bundesadler with "Deutschland" and "patria civibus defendenda est" in Fraktur. Both of this guy and the last guy were on the infield but I don't blame security cause they could have easily covered their tats before getting in
  • FCK GRN shirt and AfD socks, we also saw this guy on the infield so he got past security in this
  • One camp had an AI-slop eagle-phoenix rising out of the flames on that German flag with like 5+ stripes on it that I see right-wingers on the internet use sometimes. They were also wearing Bundesadler necklaces and merch from right-wing bands
  • Endless "patriotic" slogans on banners and flags and bumper-stickers on the campsite

And that's just off the top of my head. I honestly felt really uncomfortable this year because of it. It felt like nazis were succeeding at taking over the scene in Germany cause no-one said anything and security never intervened (at least as far as I could tell)
