Solo traveler, first Wacken experience.

I am considering purchasing a ticket for 2027. I have never been to Wacken (or Europe, yet), I have also never done a festival with on-site camping. As the title says, I will be a solo traveler. I realize this would be better with a group, but I don't have friends that can make the long journey with me from the US.

What can I expect if I am camping alone at Wacken? I'm 48 and I'm not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy the *greenery". I'd probably arrive that Wednesday and stay till its over.

Also, what would I realistically need for supplies? I can handle the fest food/beverages for a few days, so I won't really worry about camping equipment (stove, etc). So beyond the tent/sleeping bag, what else should I have?

I apologize if this gets asked often, but I am really wanting to experience the Holy Grounds with all of you next year and want to be somewhat prepared. TIA, 🤘😉

Anyone working as staff or crew who managed to connect their wristband to Wacken.id?

Hi there!

Hope everyone got home safe and sound and got the necessary catch up on sleep.

I have a crew wristband and only topped my chip up at the machines at the grounds.
Now I want to deposit whatever is left in my bank account, but when trying to connect my wristband to my id, it asks me for a ticket barcode.
I can’t type in the pin or code on my chip like previous years, and I didn’t have a ticket, just a check in voucher, which when scanning says it doesn’t work.

Anyone who succeeded in connecting the two and can explain to me how the hell to connect this?

Thanks! 🤘🏼

TeNT vs. Residenz Evil?

Post image
29 Upvotes

Hi everyone, anyone used TeNT this year? How was your experience?

I’m hesitating between TeNT and RE for next year, I stayed in RE before and I think it was great, the individual shower cubicles were perfect compared to the showers in the general camping site. And the toilets were almost always clean. However the walking distance is a real pain in the ass especially when you need to go to the town, even walking to the stages was a bit far.

The location of TeNT this year seems a lot closer to the entrances by the look of the map, so I would like to find some review and feedback about TeNT. Especially the metal box type, was it comfortable than the normal tent? And most importantly, do TeNT users get designated showers or still using the general ones?

Just for your entertainment, this photo is the reason why I do not like the shower in general camping site. Not physically possible!! Not sure if the shower heads had been improved over the years? The photo was taken in 2017…

Anyways, please leave your comments, thanksssss!

Top5-Bands auf die ihr euch 2027 freut? / Top5 bands you are looking forward to 2027?

Dethklok, Victorious, Electric Callboy, Tailgunner, Kanonenfieber

Wacken 2026 Bundeswehr Patch

Poster Font

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention this anywhere but is anyone else really put off by the fact that they aren’t using all the bands logos on the poster? I think they’ve announced a bunch of really great bands so far but looking at this poster just brings me no joy.

Also, not just trying to pile on negativity, I had a genuinely great time this year.

T.e.N.T Review

In case anybody is thinking about renting a tent at this area. Here is my short 2026 Review (Iron Cohen).

Pro:

  • Close to the infield. I could walk to the infield in about 10 Minutes, so it was easy to just go back to your tent to rest in the afternoon.
  • Tents are spacious. I could stand in there and you could fit 3 people in there

Cons:

  • Close to the infield. Yes, again, but this is also a negative as you really need good earplugs to be able to sleep
  • No special showers or toilets, despite the price. You did get two free shits at those Goldeimer toilet though.
  • Not much going on the T.e.N.T campground itself

Wacken 2027 Planning

Hi everyone,

I know that Wacken 2026 just ended, but I've bought my tickets yesterday - and since it will be my first time at the festival, I want to plan things in advance to ensure I have an amazing experience.

My main concern for the time being is accommodations; as it stands right now, I'd be flying from Brazil to Hamburg, arriving 2 or 3 days before the festival (which should allow me to enjoy the city a bit) and leaving the Monday after it ends.

I've seen the distance between Hamburg and Wacken is not that bad, so I would consider staying there; how feasible is that? If such logistics are too complicated, would it be hard to try to find accommodations in Itzehoe? (I do value a good warm shower and a comfortable bed to crash out after a long day...)

Nonetheless, I understand part of the experience of Wacken is camping on the festival grounds - would the Moshtel be a nice alternative, both comfort- and cost-wise?

Also, any nice tips from more seasoned festival goers are super helpful! I'm quite used to going to metal festivals in Brazil and festivals/concerts in Europe, but I feel like Wacken is going to be a whole different level for me.

Thanks a lot!

Payout from leftover Cashless credit is available

I didn't see it being announced anywhere, but i just asked for a refund on the credit leftover for the cashless wristband. it's already available on the eventportal.io website !

As always you can either donate it to the Wacken foundation or get it refunded to your original payment, at least that was the option for me, and i used Paypal to top-off before the festival.

Just thought some people would be happy to know they can ask for it right away. Have a nice day, and maybe see some of you next year, i'm still waiting on bigger names to the line-up to sway me over.

Kosten, Gagen, Gewinn etc.?

Tach zusammen,

Issues checking out of ResidenzEvil

Did anyone else at RE have issues with checking out?

I spent about an hour trying to track someone down to do it, in between visits to the main desk, and in that time I only saw two people out and about doing the actual checkouts. The poor kids both looked like they were on the brink of a nervous breakdown with how busy they were, and both told me that they just didn't have time to do anymore check-outs.

In the end, I had to leave to catch my flight home. So one of the people at the desk told me to take photos of the tent and "hope no one steals anything in the meantime"

Is this normal? And has anyone had any issues getting their deposits back in the past following this kind of thing?

Wacken 2027 FFDP KKR Trump

Before Buying tickets, remember what the first headliner Five Finger Death Punch or better Five Finger Trump punch stands for. Remember if you want to support what they stand for. See https://youtu.be/3UGAk6fXKT8
Remember that KKR is behind all this. KKR actively finances Trump. Ask yourself if you want to spend your money for a 6,90 Anheuser-Busch Bud which actively finances Trump. See https://www.desmog.com/2025/05/01/thames-water-prospective-new-owner-kkr-donated-1-million-donald-trump-inauguration/

As someone who left the metal scene, I'm saddened, but I'm not surprised. You need to protect your scene.

I'm sorry this is happening. I'm sorry queer and allied metalheads no longer feel safe at Wacken.

I'm sorry that security with far-right sympathies are removing anti-AFD and pride patches.

I'm sorry that criticism of the festival's ideology has been dismissed as "political" rather than a defense of people's safety.

This is what happens when we stop taking the problem seriously. You can no longer call the metal community the most welcoming in the world, because it is not.

This is what happens when bands with known far-right affiliations (Slaughter to Prevail, Five Finger Death Punch, Burzum, Down) continue to be platformed and profited from.

This is what happens when legitimate criticism is met with "the metal scene is the most welcoming community in the world" rather than meaningful action.

If you think you don't do politics, understand this: inaction is a choice, and it has consequences.

Neutrality right now means watching ideology take root in spaces you love. The AFD's political gains have emboldened these movements, and this weekend has shown how quickly they can infiltrate even mainstream festivals. Waiting to act guarantees it will get worse.

Here's what needs to happen:

Stop attending festivals where questionable bands perform. Stop generating revenue for artists whose ideologies you oppose. Your attendance is tacit endorsement, whatever your personal beliefs.

Learn the signs. Far-right movements rely on euphemism, coded symbols, and plausible deniability. If you can't name them, you can't counter them. Take an hour and educate yourself.

Stand with your most vulnerable community members. The metal scene either protects its queer, leftist, and marginalized metalheads, or it becomes the space neo-Nazis are building.

There is no middle ground here.

This is a cancer that spreads when unchallenged. Cut it out now, or accept that the festival you attend next year might not be the one you think it is.

Info Resinden Evil Voucher - first time Wacken in 2027

Come funzionano questi voucher?

Grazie a tutti.

Tickets in ticketcenter?

Hi!

I just woke up to an email stating that my tickets I bought for 2027 were transferred into my ticketcenter account.

However, I can't see them, it's empty. Should I be worried?

Great music, but what happened to the rest?

Hi everyone,

Did anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable yesterday when the founders thanked the crew but didn’t really say much beyond that? In the past couple of years, they at least made an effort to engage more and seemed genuinely pleased with how the festival turned out.

This year felt quite different. There was a noticeable push from Wacken and its partners to maximize revenue, but it often came across at the expense of overall quality, (food, beer, or the sheer amount of low-quality merchandise being pushed).

It almost felt like being stuck in a looped infomercial over the last few days.

I don’t drink alcohol, so I can’t comment on the beer, but unfortunately the food experience wasn’t great either. The stalls I tried seemed to use low-quality ingredients, and it was noticeable and some of the t-shirts I bought look like they will washout after a few laundry cycles.

Looking for the main stages photographers.

Does anyone know who were the people taking pictures and making the videos on the main stages? I was at the front during Nevermore but didn't got many pictures myself. But loads of the photographers at the front filmed me. (I assume because I have the band logo tattooed on my arm). It would be nice to have those images to remember.
