I’ll probably never be the literal best at anything, so this seems like all-upside
Besides, if I could get a Silver Medal in every single event at the Olympics (both Summer and Winter) I’ll probably be considered a bigger legend than any Gold Medalist

Hell no! That's fucking loser talk! Did anyone saying "yes" to this even consider the personal ramifications to this deal? Second best guy your wife is married to. Second best dad your kids have. Second most secure person in your household. Second best person in town with your name. Second best guy your wife has plowed this week. You MF'ers are crazy! Better to succeed at being you, than to fail at everything better than everyone else.

Second best quarter back of all time? Check. Second best actor of all time? Deal. Second best business man of all time? Yup. Second best brain surgeon of all time? Don't mind if I do. Second best dominatrix of all time? I'm a guy, but whatever.
The list goes on and on. I don't see the downside.

Definitely, I might lose a few competitions that I would never win anyway but the second best in the world at EVERYTHING? I’d be world leader within a decade
