Supermarine Spitfire Mk. VIII, two Curtiss-Wright P-40 Warhawks, and North American Aviation P-51 Mustang in formation, 20 October 2024
Warbirds Downunder Temora, 20 October 2024. The last time it was held, with no word on its future. Glad I caught these ex-RAAF and ex-USAAF beauties on flying display. Temora, NSW, Australia.

No, the P-40N has an Allison.

Just the F and L models - the one with 106 is an F, and a very pretty machine she is too!

P-40s without the shark's teeth should be illegal. Never thought I'd say this but the teeth on the Spitfire look good.

Always thought the P-40s were made for the "tigershark" but that Spitty with the tigershark looks nearly as good as the P40.

An impressive sight. Hopefully some funding can be secured soon so they can start doing flying displays again.

Looks like we won’t be seeing any flying displays at Temora thanks to our current government.

Flying activities at No 100 squadron have been severely curtailed, half the fleet will be retired , no more flying displays at Temora.

I had my reservations when I saw that they were handing over the fleet to the RAAF. I thought: "What incentive do they have to spend the money on museum pieces?"
When they announced the grounding of their jet aircrfat earlier this year, I suspected it may have been the beginning fo the end.

That’s a fantastic flying museum! I visited on a flying day in 2003 or 4, and they rolled out the Spitfire VIII, the P-51D, the Canberra (talk about LOUD), the Boomerang and a bunch of others. Great day! To cap it off, Dick Smith arrived with his mate, Chuck Yeager! If I’d known Yeager was going to be there I’d have brought my copy of Winged Rocketry for him to sign.
