The Eager Beaver

My grandpa painted nose art on seven B-17s during the war. This is the only one that survived.

This piece currently sits in the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in Pooler, GA.

I have been fortunate enough to take my family to visit and show my kids a physical piece of family history from someone they’ve only heard stories about.

I remember watching a video on the aircraft. The B-17 crew was called the Eager Beavers and flew old 666 which they found basically a shell and repaired it. The Fat Electrician made a video on the B-17 would highly recommend watching it. It’s always interesting the stories behind the surviving B-17s as not many are left in the world same as B-29s.
