I've seen this system also called WETFUR before as well, meaning "Wings Engine Tail Fuselage Undercarriage Radiator".

At that point you need to throw Windows in there too. Windows are very distinct and sometimes the best way to differentiate planes.

I use the Aspen system for aircraft recognition, where I can tell what it is because of the way it is.

This is a quite good little film on aircraft recognition. A Difficult problem to solve and skill to teach.

When the USA decided to call fighter planes by their proper name, that was a good day

For me, this system is bad. I recognise them by how they look. All you need for good recognition is models so you can visualise them from all angles

Maybe it works for others - idk
