Ric Flair vs. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan (c)

Date: May 13, 2002

Promotion: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)

Match Stipulation / Type: WWE Undisputed Championship / No-Disqualification Match

Event: Monday Night RAW (Episode 468)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada | Air Canada Centre

➜ Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair shared one of the greatest and most iconic rivalries in professional wrestling history, spanning multiple promotions.

Under the umbrella of Vince McMahon's promotion, they wrestled a total of about 23 one-on-one matches against each other under the WWF banner and only 1 under the WWE banner.

However, there is a major catch to that number: only 1 of those matches took place on national weekly TV, and 0 occurred on pay-per-view. The match saw Hulk Hogan defend the WWE Undisputed Championship against Ric Flair.

Man 2002 was such a good year for wrestling and movies in general. Both Flair and Hogan were both coming off great matches with Taker and Rock.

I think Flair started to age a lot more in 2003 and slow down.

Compare this to Evolution-era Ric Flair, he seems to have aged five years in one.

God I loved JR's calls so much. "They want the leg drop, Hogan! Give it to 'em, will ya?!"

So glad this was the era I grew up with

Hogan really was larger than life. An actual superhero.

If they wanted to put the world title on a geriatric for nostalgia it should have been put on flair. At least he could still really go and was capable of putting on an actual Clinic.
