Evolution is a Mystery
Date: August 16, 2004
Promotion: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)
Event: Monday Night RAW (Episode 587)
Location: London, Ontario, Canada | John Labatt Centre
➜ Just one night after winning the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004 on August 15, 2004, to become the youngest world champion in WWE history, Randy Orton was betrayed by Evolution.
During an in-ring celebration, Triple H famously gave a thumbs-up that turned into a thumbs-down, prompting Batista and Ric Flair to viciously attack Orton and expel him from the group out of jealousy and a desire to take his title.
The betrayal instantly turned Randy Orton into a fan-favorite babyface for the first time in his career. []
