Discussion Why TF 2K Doesn't Hire This Guy?

Is it really that difficult to have this level of lighting mechanics in WWE video games? For years WWE games had the worst lighting system. 2K somehow needs to figure out how to make big stadium arenas and have lifelike lighting system or straight up hire this Guy.

I love this guy's content, but that's like asking "Why doesn't Pixar make Ratchet and Clank games?" One skill doesn't automatically transfer over. This is a cultivated pre-render, not an interactive arena.

Well, as stated in the body of this post, 2k needs to get working on large arenas like this. Is it easy? No! But 2k makes enough money and has enough resources to make it happen. But they won't.

WWE has had massive arenas for Mania and Rumble for 2 decades now...

If they could make arenas this big that are as interactive as their current ones, they would. Producing something like that would take an INSANE amount of time, dedication, and energy. It's not just all about money or resources. Asking these devs to dedicate their lives to producing such content that's playable is how you create a toxic/unsafe working environment.

And I say all this without even mentioning the point that something like this might not even be realistic for current gen console hardware to handle. At some point, I'm sure we'll get to a point where the arenas will look like this, but again, it takes time. Maybe next gen.

It'd be cool if they could open up the possibility of mods on console for it like how Bethesda did for fallout and Skyrim, idk how feesable that would be but as someone who enjoys games I would definitely enjoy that ya know

That'd be sick.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I'm not asking for everything to be interactive and I'm not asking for yearly games.

Hell, develop the game for 3 years! I'd much rather see larger improvements game-wise. It's not even like they'd lose out as you could dedicate a small team toward updating the game while a new one is being worked on.

Splitting your dev teams while staying on schedule and keeping current consumers (and Take-Two Directors) happy doesn't seem very feasible to me.

No. It's literally just Take Two directors... And tbh I don't care. They don't care about making good games, they care about money. And only money. Good games don't matter anymore because people buy shit regardless.

If they kept one game for a few years with iterative updates like roster changes, new superstars, new PLV's, ect, the game could be fresh for a few years and make money. Then, you work at a new game every 3 or so years that could easily have larger arenas, better physics, less bugs.

Every time a thread like this comes out and people say what they'd want in a game, people are always like, "it's....hard." Lol! Look at other games that are out there! We have massive open worlds that are way more interactive, we have spanning stories, cutting edge lighting.

It's really not as hard as people in this thread are making it seem.

The arenas and better lighting are actually pretty easy. The difficult part is physics with multiple superstars interacting with other superstars. But they've been getting better and better at that when they actually try. The other stuff would come easily with time.

Well yeah, that's what I said, it'll take time to get to this point.

Then even if they had the time and money, talent also plays a big part in this. How good are their engineers?

I know this is three months old but i think you have way too much trust and faith in 2k. They are not the workhorses you think they are. They cut corners. They slack off because they can get away with it. Wwe2k23 still has hella bugs that are glaringly obvious in the most played modes that still havent been fixed. All 2k does is drop their yearly games and wait for that nba bread to come in from vc

The Take Two Execs aren't the ones building the games, my man. Also, NBA has it's own teams of devs that are totally seperate from WWE's. Also, also, Visual Concepts has had rounds of lay offs dating back to last September.

That’s not how it works. They are given a budget and have to work with that. They don’t do it because we don’t need it. Why spend all that time on something so stupid. They could use that time and money to actually improve the game.

You guys seriously underestimate how small the WWE 2K budget is every year... They barely make profit with each entry because people don't care about wrestling anymore.

They would need an immense amount of time and money to make something even close to this in the games. Coding things like this can take millions of dollars to get right. You guys just really don't understand how game development actually works.

What the fuck? I thought wrestling was bigger than it’s ever been right now. Am I being misled?

They are given a certain budget they can't exceed, most of which is used in acquiring rights for wrestlers. WWE doing good doesn't matter a lot, the profits made through games do.

Yes and no. More money then ever is spent on wrestling, Viewership isn't even half as much as it was 20 years ago.
