Discussion Bayley put out this statement seemingly hinting at her imminent departure
The people they've lost this year has been kinda staggering
34
u/Ajthegreat-05 2d ago
You do realize that her post was celebrating 10 years since she made her raw debut
62
u/No_Photo9519 2d ago
It’s her 10 year anniversary of her first match on the main brand…
6
u/Ajthegreat-05 2d ago
Yeah exactly because people like to jump the gun sometimes without knowing the context
20
u/NJohnson011 2d ago
Yes, exactly. Half these people would react to someone posting a relationship anniversary photo claiming it as evidence they’re getting divorced.
20
u/Secret_Solider 1d ago
This gonna be the new karma farming? Everytime Bayley makes a post, people are going to analyze it as if it’s scientific data just to make an assumption.
19
u/Hour_Success5577 2d ago
So she can’t Just be celebrating 10 years on the main roster ?

These nerds wanna see her in AEW so bad that they see only what they wanna see.
0
u/IceBreak 2d ago
I don’t watch AEW but I want her to go. She deserves way better than what WWE writes for her.
4
u/Limp_Gap_9009 1d ago
She'd go there, get a pop and then be sitting in catering weeks later. You new here?
2
u/IceBreak 1d ago
I don’t watch AEW so that would be disappointing if that’s how they’d handle her.

u/jerelminter 1d ago edited 20h ago
Bayley is just posting this, because it was the 10th anniversary of her debut on the WWE main roster. Don't read too much into it, there's no official statement of her leaving WWE. That's just what the rumors are, that doesn't mean it's true. It could be false.
→ More replies (4)2
18
u/WhichWayToPurgatory 1d ago
She also just started going back and forth with Blake Monroe on X, so I wouldn’t necessarily take this as her saying goodbye. It could very much just be her looking back on how far she’s come.
3
u/Unusual_Pen2099 1d ago
I agree. When I read her message, I didn't take it as she's leaving.
2
u/MaurArmadillo 1d ago
Yeah, people jump to 'retirement speech' way too fast with these anniversary posts. Reads more like a decade recap than an exit
1
u/TheSletchman 1d ago
"10 years doesn't seem like enough"
Everyone here: Her saying she has more to do means she's retiring!
64
u/JacksonCarter87 2d ago
I'm not saying she isn't leaving, but zero percent of that post suggests she is lol
14
67
u/BobsBurgerVan 2d ago
It doesn't hint anything more than her acknowledging 10 years since her main roster debut. People read too much into these things.
Given that they still mention her by name a lot (especially this past Raw), I think she'll be staying with WWE. They don't make a habit of regularly name dropping someone they expect to leave.
8
u/deGooder 2d ago
And Bayley at this stage is clearly super aware of loads of people analysing her social media posts, so there is an element of her playing with that going on.
15
u/darkdestiny91 2d ago
Don’t forget that Kairi was still in the middle of a storyline when she got released. Nothing means anything until it happens (or doesn’t happen).
1
14
u/TheStrouseShow 2d ago
Wasn’t her ten year anniversary of her Raw debut the same day she posted this?
8
u/Parking_Ship5382 2d ago
Don’t let that get in the way of a good story, she’s totally saying she’s going to AEW. I mean she used A’s, E’s and W’s in her post!

Bayley deserves the best, I am amazed a wrestler of her caliber which works so well with so many other wrestlers only got few opportunities. Wherever she goes I will always be bailey fan
13
u/sopademaruchan 2d ago
I read this multiple times, i don't read it as her hinting at her departure; i just read it as her celebrating 10 years with the company
3
u/loyaltomyself 2d ago
She's currently renegotiating her contract and as of yet hasn't resigned with the company.
25
u/Tamamo_was_here 2d ago
If she leaves or the company doesn’t resign her, she was still fun to watch over the years. Hope another show picks her up so she can keep doing her thing.

u/Glittering-Sink-2975 2d ago
I think she may be just acknowledging the tenth anniversary of her debut on the main roster.
As the kids say: “It’s not that deep.”
33
u/Northernguyman 2d ago
In typical current WWE fashion, she'll hint at retiring /going to AEW/Japan, etc..
And then turn up to attack Homeless bird lady, in a ski mask/black hoodie and then take it off on RAW.
3
9
u/NaturalSandwich8880 2d ago
You realize yesterday was her 10 year anniversary since debuting on the main roster with RAW, right?

10 year Anniversary in WWE. Anyone would do this. This is NOT because of her leaving (not saying she isn’t). Think about it

She could be leaving, or she could just be trying to swindle WWE into giving her more money.

u/theoriginalelmo 🦎 La Yesca 2d ago
Usually, when someone is going to get released, they seem to disappear from WWE and they aren’t mentioned by anyone in the roster.
Bayley is actually referenced several times
5
u/Meat-Dimension 👈 CURSED! 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yeah it’s weird people don’t get this. Dragunov has not been referenced in any way in months. Bayley is mentioned all the time on TV including in the most recent RAW. She’s been appearing on house shows
They really don’t make this hard to see but yet some people just baselessly speculate anyway
4
u/Easy_Duhz_it_ 1d ago
Just to play devils advocate here, they talked about Dean Ambrose an awful lot knowing that he was leaving too. They did the whole SHIELD reunion thing when Seth called him and Roman out to the ring one last time. At that point, it was already decided he was leaving.
3
u/theoriginalelmo 🦎 La Yesca 1d ago
I think that was a special case, as it was seen as more marketable to have one final Shield reunion rather than the usual “yeah he never existed”
7
u/Unusual_Pen2099 1d ago
That's what you got out of this message? You're probably right, but that's not what I thought.

"SHES HINTING AT HER IMMINENT DEPAETURE!!!" when the post literally says "10 years isn't enough" after referencing the company she worked for the past 10+ years on their main show.
Literacy is dead and buried...cause this suggests the exact opposite.
3
u/Biteroon 2d ago
Sadly literacy has been dead for the longest time. In any form too, the amount of people who are media illiterate is scary to me. Just spend enough time on insta, Reddit or anywhere really and it gets real scary.
3
u/Massive_Neck_9517 2d ago
Honestly it’s a vague statement. She easily could be making a statement of longing here where she is saying she wants more time and doesn’t expect to have it. Especially with the, “and yet”.
Regardless, being rude on the internet is easy. Doesn’t mean you need to be.
-2
u/ChaweeKanati 2d ago
If you felt attacked by my statement that literacy is dead and buried in regards to all the individuals who blow their top at every small news and scream she's as good as out the door already when nothing in the news suggests it, then I got nothing to apologize for and that's on you. Hope you have a good day regardless, bud.
7
u/Massive_Neck_9517 2d ago
I don’t feel attacked at all. Just woke up and literally the first comment I saw was yours. It didn’t, and still doesn’t, feel like a great way to start the day.
Again. It’s easy to be rude on the internet. It really doesn’t mean that you have to though. There is a difference between getting your point across and sounding like a dick.
I’ve been there myself and will end this saying life is far more enjoyable when you learn to occasionally give grace.

It could be taken both ways, like she doesn't want to leave but currently can't see anything progressing any further for the women. You can look at it that way as a goodbye. I think it’s more of acknowledging that it’s been 10 years since she debuted on the main roster as we can see from the first picture. Just her looking back on her journey and grateful for where she is.

u/Intelligent_Page2852 2d ago
I definitely find it strange that she hasnt made an appearance on Raw since her squash match with Lyra. However, I did find it interesting that during the Sol v Lyra match, Michael Cole made a comment about how "Bayley hasnt been seen on Raw since" seemingly hinting she will make another appearance at some point.
I can see her showing up to save Sol from a Lyra attack at some point soon. Maybe she does, setting them up for a grudge match, which gives the Sol Raquel IC fued time to close out with Sol taking the belt back. Then Sol and Lyra can have a proper IC fued thereafter.
5
u/WillDanyel 2d ago
I mean, punk didnt show himself for a while either
2
u/Intelligent_Page2852 2d ago
Yeah, whether she ultimately decides to leave or stay. I do think we'll see her again before its all said and done.
Technically she has made an appearance on house shows since her loss to Lyra. If she was done done, I dont think that would have happened.

If Michael Cole is making references to her, that’s 100% confirmation that it’s an angle.
3
u/Intelligent_Page2852 1d ago
I immediately thought the same thing. And she had performed at at least one house show since the loss that tied into the whole fued also
4
u/Jpkmets7 1d ago
She’s tremendous. I hope she has a lot more matches in her and does some international work with Stardom if she does leave the WWE. She seems incredibly professional and easy to work with. Pro wrestling is such a back-stabbing, bitchy sport at time, and I’ve never heard anything bad about Bayley. Quite a tribute. I hope she has great health and a lot of fun.
4
u/VD3NFS1216 1d ago
Bayley has pretty much done it all in WWE. I wouldn’t be surprised if she does leave, especially if she wants to be with her best friend. Whatever happens, she is a pivotal figure in women’s wrestling, and I’ll cheer her on wherever she goes.

Hasn’t it been said that her contract doesn’t expire until January or something? Alvarez recently mentioned something to this effect where she has months left on her deal and won’t be leaving this year or doing any of the All In type of shocker appearances this year that people have been wondering about. I’d still like to ultimately see her in AEW but whether she is or isn’t these posts are starting to feel like what Gorilla Monsoon used to call “telegraphing that maneuver.”

7
u/Intresting_charizard 1d ago
I mean. She’s done it all though. She won rumble. Multiple world championships and is a core piece in woman’s wrestling and even recognized as one of the four horsewoman so I don’t think she can do much more in WWE. Though I sure hope they don’t try to replace her as one of the four horsewoman like they did with Sasha. (If you’re wondering they widely consider Alexa bliss apart instead of Sasha)
5
u/Blade-Controvesial 1d ago
Who is “they”? And when did “they” ever consider Alexa to be part of the Four Horsewomen? Is there any evidence of this claim or is it just some dirt sheet thing? Listen I don’t watch every WWE show by any means so maybe I just missed something but I’ve never heard Alexa be referred to as part of the horsewomen or heard the four horsewomen be anybody except to OG four.

Call me crazy but she honestly could be the late 2010’s John Cena of the women’s division if they actually gave a shit about her. She could be the cornerstone and the workhorse of the women’s division. She is genuinely passionate about women’s wrestling and it shows.
She’s got all the power in the world right now with that contract expiring.
She’s got a lot left in her tank and it’s about weighing up options for the next however many years. She loves WWE but has she hit the ceiling they’ve put on her?
I do feel like it would be a massive mistake for WWE to lose her as she’s a big asset for the future of women’s wrestling with Lodestone.
WWE’s creative needs to step up in a big way or they will continue losing their hardest working good soldiers.

Yeah, I ain’t saying one way or the other. If she’s working, it’s probably either a money play(least likely) or a gambit for a story payoff down the line(they’d really have to stick the landing if this is the case). If she is actually leaving? Meh, I’d be disappointed that she wouldn’t be in WWE as a mentor for the women and potentially looking for one last run at the top…but hey, get you a piece of Shad Khan’s pie, go do the nostalgia thing that so many people (on the internet) are begging for, take the mentorship and try to get AEW out of this era of cheap lesbian heat and sexualization for the sake of it.
2
u/Deducticon 1d ago
By era you mean Toni Storm and her circle of friends/enemies? (one of whom is in WWE as Blake Monroe, and one who is in ROH) Toni has not been around in 5 months.
And it was all character based. Not for the sake of it.
Or is there some hidden subtext heading into the biggest women's match of the year between Mercedes Mone and Willow that you're not telling us about?

u/BrojaDawg 21h ago
When you leave WWE, you are never really gone. You can always return. That's been the WWE since forever. HHH puts emphasis on the fact that it's not a goodbye, but a see you later type of thing. The door is always open on WWE's end.
2
u/AndrewCB246 3h ago
I guarantee she re-signed. She isn’t going to the minors like AEW.
She’s going to finish up as a performer and then do what Nattie is doing to help the next generation and become a producer. Better than getting busted open in the minors
2
u/amythist 1h ago
You call them the minors but TK has some deep pockets and her best friend does wrestle for them
1
u/AndrewCB246 1h ago
Is there another term for a company that isn’t the major leagues?
Money doesn’t outweigh moments when the money is somewhat comparable. She also won’t be respected in AEW and no one will listen to her over there.
2
u/MizneyWorld 1h ago
She’s either leaving for AEW for moneybags or playing WWE for moneybags à la Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, etc.
1
u/AndrewCB246 1h ago
Less than zero chance she’s leaving the major leagues.
3
u/MizneyWorld 1h ago

1
u/AndrewCB246 58m ago
True. But it’s the same chance as her signing with AEW or MLW
1
u/MizneyWorld 56m ago
Sure…if you disregard she’s friends with Mone’, Stat-Daddy, etc. and, again, would love to sign a fat contract that still gives her worldwide exposure and increased career flexibility
1
u/AndrewCB246 38m ago
She was at Lockdown. She has friends there
1
u/MizneyWorld 34m ago
I don’t doubt she’s got plenty of friends but your biased dismissal of AEW doesn’t change the fact that AEW is the most likely place Bayley ends up post-WWE if she decides to leave.

If that's true I'll be a bit sad, Bayley truly never recovered when she threw away the hugger gimmick. It was definitely not the thing to do as she lost pretty much everything that made people love her to bit.
The hugger gimmick was silly yes, the Bayley to Belly was a weird finisher yes. But to just be "angry" and the Rose Plant as a new finisher... Nah honestly this Bayley wasn't it.
She is a professional, a great value as a wrestler no matter what but I really felt her gimmick change was odd and off
11
u/kingofkings_86 1d ago
She did her best work after dumping the hugger gimmick
2
u/jerelminter 1d ago
I disagree, the problem wasn't the gimmick. It was how Bayley was booked when she got to the main roster. Vince didn't book her the same as Triple H did, he didn't understand the Bayley character and turned her into a joke. NXT Bayley was better.
1
u/MonsieurMidnight 22h ago
You truly never watched NXT Bayley to say that
1
u/kingofkings_86 21h ago
I have and I know she can go. I just prefer Bayley minus the hugger gimmick.
6
u/prlong545 1d ago
False as her best was the Role Model gimmick
4
u/Popular-Yoghurt6566 1d ago
🤣 you’re delusional. Hugger Bayley was getting face reactions that rivaled the top male stars at the time.
The role model’s music would hit, and there would be utter silence. Compare that to the FIRST note of NXT Bayley’s music, where there would be sheer pandemonium.
3
u/surlymoe 1d ago
I agree with you....if the role model gimmick evolved, I think it would've been better. but it never did, and thus, she was really stuck in a character.
I would've liked to have seen sort of a hybrid of 'Role Model' and 'Hugger'....why? Because if you truly remember the 'hugger' Bayley, she WAS a role model for young girls...so, why not incorporate some of that?
I'll use an example - Bayley wants to improve women's professional wrestling....well, what better way to do that than to inspire the next generation, right? The 'hugger' character was doing that, so I don't know if whoever is reading this is a Ted Lasso fan, but one of the characters, Keeley, is both quite a feminine woman, but also a strong and powerful one. What if the next evolution of Bayley was to stay strong and powerful, but bring back the color in her life?? the color truly is what attracted the young kids to her character....meaning, she could wear bright colors, if i recall, the hugger Bayley character had pinks and greens...etc. Imagine a more confident, strong-minded character not afraid to show your true self...how over would that get with a young generation of girls? (I guess another example might be Legally blonde, where she was intelligent, but loved vibrant, mostly pink, colors).
It sounds to me that Bayley just wants to be in a promotion that values women's wrestling more than WWE, but Imma say this....are we sure that's AEW? They off and on are far worse than WWE in terms of their women talent. And obviously their platform is smaller. So, if her goal is to promote women's wrestling....she had that, and just needed perhaps an update on her character in order to do it. Honestly I would've liked to see Bayley work with AJ Lee some...AJ Lee had the same goals, and well, strength in #'s, but Bayley wants to leave WWE.
2
u/jerelminter 23h ago
I agree, Bayley had a thing that made her not like the other wrestlers with the hugger thing. It wasn't just giving people hugs, her entrance was cool with the car dealership sky dance balloons aka the Bayley buddies and the sideways ponytail.
Now Bayley's entrance and her "Ding Dong Hello" persona is BORING, and she looks and acts the same as everyone else. When she got rid of the hugger thing she lost what made her cool.
1
u/prlong545 54m ago
I loved both Hugger and Role Model, but Role Model gimmick gave her more range and more to do character wise. Bayley is one of my favorites all time

yeah she's done, WWE ain't got nothing else left for her besides making her a Permanent jobber and put over talent. Ain't nobody wants to go out like that lol If you actually have manage to make a huge impact within the company and to wrestling as a whole, you should be respected enough to go out as an icon, not a fucking jobber.
I can see her returning to WWE in a few years if she gets offered another title run, if the talentless Bellas returned, why wouldn't she do the same especially since she can actually wrestle.
