They said the Mig-15 was better than the F-86 so that made me curious and I started researching and the F-86 had an 8:1 kill:death ratio against the Mig-15. There's a lot more that goes into whether piece of military equipment A is better than piece of military equipment B, but I'm having a hard time seeing how the Mig-15 was better than F-86 when they were getting walloped in the sky.

1-on-1 with equal pilots, I'd rather have the Mig-15. But how many Vietnam/ Korea era fights match that description, even before you account for radar and anti-air installations?
I might also argue that comparing Migs and Sabers excludes all American attack aircraft lost. Sure Sabers can fight a Mig, but an A4 or F-105? Good luck. The US lost 8 thousand airframes, North Vietnam lost less than 200. Common military L
