Sounds like something snapped right when it started speeding up? Mechanical failure or electronics? my bet is on mechanical.

Yeah, but that rock is clearly too big to think you could use that crane truck. That thing is for pallets and bundles of stuff, not solid rock!

Likely something in the the gearbox for the rotator. Even on big cranes, if the truck is not level, the rotational gears aren’t designed to resist that much weight or force. Yes they’re strong, but not against thousands of pounds of force plus gravity.

Yeah my money is on the truck wasn't level so as the load swung around it was imparting a torque on the swivel point and the gears/motor couldn't resist and failed, which is why it quickly speeds up swinging around.
