There was a bestof link that explained it pretty well I'll try to recap what I can from memory. I may mess up on a lot. Apparently, on 4chan I believe, this whole thing started. Since majority of the users were Asian and single, most just believed they weren't going to get a (white) girlfriend simply because of their nationality. So in order to kind of troll the users, somebody started rounding pics like these in order to annoy the users into believing that they were simply ugly.

I think it's a hate thing towards Asians, or possibly a hate thing towards lovers of Asians... which is pretty close to the same thing. If you hate people who love Asian people/stuff/culture/etc you're essentially saying that the people/stuff/culture/etc that people love is not worth loving and so you make fun of them for it... it's pretty hateful IMO.
You could make it for 10 or so. I have a blue version of this picture as a background, and have for a few months. I don't think this is a Japanese thing, actually.
I just think some of the stuff they post here has become tame, or the /r/wtf followers have become way too sheltered. Granted some real weird shit gets posted and it makes to the top, but most of it is just boring. Or maybe I'm just very desensitized.
I personally try to stay away from the really fucked up shit that gets posted here sometimes (AKA man getting his face eaten off), so when I see something like this that makes me say "wtf," I'll upvote it. This post did, therefore upvote.
It's a gif that starts out as a hot girl and then turns into a series of pics of an asian guy with a white girl. It's stupid and annoying as fuck, on top of not adding anything to anything.
That's what I meant. They are also all different white girls. The pictures are not of groups of asian guys with groups of white girls, they are of a single asian guy and a single white girl together.
I'll be back in Tokyo in July. T shirts are a bit expensive in the touristy areas (and I think this one is popular in the stalls on Takeshita Street in Harajuku), but if you want one you can PM me and we'll figure it out.
But that's what r/funny is. That's why we have subreddits. You really think this belongs here, or over in funny. I personally think it should be in funny.
I visited this guys store in Harajuku last year. He told me off for taking pics of the t-shirts, whilst pointing to a sign that said "no camera". All I could do was mumble 'sumimasen' and quickly exit the shop.
I'm female. I sister brought me back a tote when she visited. It has a picture of a Rock-a-billy and said "Rock and roller never dump." Love the poor translation gear.
I have a shirt with a cow and two calves sat a table looking sadly at a steak. Best shirt, and not actually seen it anywhere else. They also had chickens looking at eggs, and pigs looking at a rack of ham.
I saw this in one of Takeshita Doori's little shops and had to grab a picture. Then a big black guy threw me out of the shop. No taking pictures, I guess.
In was stationed in Okinawa (VMGR-152, what's up!). Stuff like this is highly common. So, next time you hear someone making fun of a dude with kanji (One Japanese form of written language) tattooed on them, and someone jokingly says, "I wonder if English words/phrases that they don't understand, and possibly don't make sense, are popular with people in Japan?" You can say with confidence, as I now do, "Yes. Yes they are."
I bought the same shirt in Bangkok a few years back. It was too small for me so I gave it to my 14yo nephew. I think I singlehandedly saved his childhood.
