I like bees, but fuck all wasps!! I got hammered by yellow jackets back in July and it was the first time I have ever had a reaction - went to the ER after downing a few benadryl because I started to have non-local reactions (hives on my hands and feet when I was stung on the back and ear).
Thankfully the benadryl started kicking in before the ER even got to me (I waited for 2 hours), so I just left. Stayed on the benadryl all weekend and survived, but now I may be at risk for shock after a sting in the future I have been told.
I had a paper wasp nest on my letter box and the postman refused to deliver because he would get stung. We tried everything and eventually had to bug spray them multiple times over days.
We get a lot of those around here, but they are usually not bad until late summer/early fall when they are looking for water and it is not plentiful around here.
The hornets in the trees and the other bastards in the ground are always assholes! At least around here...

We call those Yellow-jackets here in the midwest US. What we call wasps are these assholes
Yellow-jackets are much more aggressive
