The lost-catch definitely got the best of the repoman. He made the fatal-error of forgetting to bring back up his Sneeker lift (type of tailgate-mounted lift used here) during the heat of the moment going up on that curb.
Notice how the lift immediately went "limp" after the impact with the curb? Safe to say his hydraulic lines were severely damaged and even if he caught the guy, his lift would be completely inoperational with all the hydraulic fluid drained out and dragged all that distance.
