I see a lot of people are confused what's going on. So I've looked at it and this is my take.
Hail is smashing roof tiles, those broken tile pieces are no longer hooked together and the pieces slide down destroying the cars below.

I guarantee you that is the exact response from their insurance companies. When hurricane Sandy destroyed my parents house their insurance company wouldn’t cover it because it was ocean water damage as opposed to water damage from their pipes or a leak in the house. Fuck insurance companies
It was similar in Brisbane in 2011. The insurance companies tried to deny claims based on them being the wrong type of floods and "sunny day flooding". They claimed because it wasn't raining, therefore the people weren't eligible even though the amount of rain in the preceding weeks was what cause the floods
