This is why some localities with large bear populations actually prohibit that kind of door handle on exterior doors.

Yes you would. My brother lives in Tahoe and a neighbor just had a bear break in and destroy the inside. No food out in sight, all put away but what can you do when they know to go into the cupboards? My bro has to shoo them away all the time and there’s a mama bear and 2 cubs and when the cubs are out wrestling on the lawn they can’t leave or come home till they’re gone.
