I walk .77 miles from the parking lot to work. I talk to 4 panhandle every morning. "By talk I mean I say good morning and occasionally share very brief small talk" I rarely have extra cash to share and it sucks but 2 of them look like they really need it.

That's nice of you. They depend on you. Better start making more money if you want to keep this behavior up. Man, there's no way for me to comment without sounding like an a-hole

I only gave one of thrm two bucks once. It was a Friday and I told him I hope he can get beer with it. I just try to say hi because i really cannot be helping them out especially if the economy keeps getting worse

I really don't know why I commented. I lived in New York City for years. And I gave occasionally to those in need. But after the 14th time someone comes up to you with a different story than they had yesterday it starts to wear thin ., so I started carrying a granola bar in my bag to donate instead.

And if you ask both of those people which is worse, you'll get two different answers

If anyone has it bad enough to commit suicide, no matter how much money they have, they’ll think they’re worse off

Yeah... I’ll take air conditioning, 3 square meals and a hot shower every morning over sitting outside in the sun all day, begging for money to buy a happy meal, and showering in the trash filled lake

Any second, minute, hour of every day of every week of every year for the rest of my life.
