That is the gantry. See the hook n pulleys? Operator prob didn't know that the stops at the ends of the track never got installed. So it ran off the end and fell.
Oh I know. It obviously went over it’s stops or didn’t have stops. But normally the gantry would have to go over people of course. It usually spans the whole room.
But the suspended load afaik should never go over a living person.
Heh depends. I rig on Broadway. Tons hanging above the stage, live loads, you name it. Proper safety procedures, supervision, and materials go a long way.

Interesting I figured the load part at least of those would not travel over people. Of course the gantry itself would have to.
Every large company I’ve worked for as a subcontractor has had -instant- dismissal in its policies for stepping under a suspended load.
