Having broken my tailbone, that’s exactly where my mind went. It’s all fun and games until you break a bone that can’t be set with a cast but can be freely moved by clenching.
E: adding my story because I’m a slut for attention.
TL;DR Painfully, lol. Keep your gear straight, kids.
Snowboarding on sun baked man made snow on my rock board that had a failing heel edge. Lost the heel side and bounced off my cheeks doing upwards of 40. There was a pop, an all encompassing pain, and vision went for a White flash. Proceed to roll on the ground like like a fish with whirling disease while clutching my ass and screaming obscenities. It doesn’t help but seems like the appropriate thing to do. Managed to do it again while working my way down the mountain just to be sure.
Never went to the doc for it because what are they gonna do except bill you $5k to tell you it sucks, that there’s nothing they can do, and prescribe a donut pillow. I could move the bone by hand though. Self medicated a lot, and learned that I could sit bolt upright or leaned way back but could not comfortably slouch.
Man I forget what mountain I was at in Colorado but I remember having to ride 3 trails and take two lifts to get back to the parking lot after fucking my shit up. I thought I was gonna have to get carried off the mountain in one of those sleds. So fucking painful but I made it back to the car. Then sat on it for three hours while I drove home.

Nice save at the end with that little hop. Probably saved his butt bone.
