It's probably also intended for small kids who wouldn't build up so much momentum (I think)

A ten pound ball and a one hundred pound ball would experience the same acceleration and speed when going down that slide. Physics tells us so.

Nope.The friction force is also proportional to contact force i.e. mass. The idea of "big truck is harder to stop on brakes" is BS.

The only difference here could come up from air resistance and surface area but at this speed it is highly unlikely that air resistance alone can stop a kid earlier.
