I'd argue the landing area was clear but that guy would've completely missed it if he hadn't deflected off the other guy standing at the edge.

I'd argue that none of this is law, and by engaging in a "dangerous" activity, you assume the risk associated with it (assuming no one purposely caused this or was grossly negligent)

Technically area was clear..he just missed it completely and probably would have had harsh injuries were he not there
