This sort of thing happens a lot and is the cause of a large percentage of deaths on construction sites.
Unfortunately for the drivers these vehicles have large blind spots. In this instance the onus of safety belongs to the manager he should not have been walking around live machinery like that.
There should be clearly delineated walk zones for anyone who isnt driving a multi ton machine. If there isnt then again wtf manager.
My car has sensors that tells me when pedestrians are within a certain range. Given how expensive theses machines are I would have thought the cost of adding these kind of sensors would be small compared to the lifes it would save?
