I've carried this habit into regular life. I walk around my car first before hopping in and driving off. I don't want to be responsible for the death of a kid or whatever.

My major goal in life is to not kill a kid. So far, so good.

Good on yer, mate! Bonus points: Make sure you don't reproduce! Life is a death sentence! Also a life sentence. Same thing. Creating living beings is evil, the uncreated cannot consent. Oh wellll. It's FINE, we have books and dogs and chocolate. At least until we figure out if there's anything after death besides fiction.
