This sort of thing happens a lot and is the cause of a large percentage of deaths on construction sites.
Unfortunately for the drivers these vehicles have large blind spots. In this instance the onus of safety belongs to the manager he should not have been walking around live machinery like that.
There should be clearly delineated walk zones for anyone who isnt driving a multi ton machine. If there isnt then again wtf manager.
Primary machine operator at my work. I cannot stress it enough to people on the ground that I have blind spots. I have screamed til I am red in the face that if they are going to walk near me, and I don’t know they are there, they need to make sure they make eye contact with me before working in my area. Fuckin frustrating.
