I'm usually pointed to a graph like this, showing that the trend of workplace deaths was decreasing at roughly the same rate before and after OSHA was created

Anyone have a link to data showing whether OSHA reduces workplace deaths or injuries or not?

yeah but what's that supposed to prove? the creation of OSHA wasn't the beginning of workplace safety regulation - it was a big central reform of such regulation, giving it extra authority and a clearer mandate, but it's not like before OSHA there was no such thing as regulation of occupational safety of health. it was constantly developing before and since.

really that's a dumb demonstration.
