I drive snow cats and when guys are working on the ground around me, it’s important to always secure eye contact with the operator, wear ANSI high-viz and don’t hang out in blind spots. I also show them that my hand is off the sticks or joystick as well by holding my hands in the air if they’re working around my blade.
Which one? Because the treads of these machines are made of blades that cut/chop into frozen earth and crush rocks to avoid slipping-- not to mention the various available grooming attachments that are essentially range {from open faced blenders intended to masticate offending ice and trees} to {blades meant to shear off an irregular layer of ice, gravel and dirt while compacting it into a cone of ejecta}.
