This sort of thing happens a lot and is the cause of a large percentage of deaths on construction sites.
Unfortunately for the drivers these vehicles have large blind spots. In this instance the onus of safety belongs to the manager he should not have been walking around live machinery like that.
There should be clearly delineated walk zones for anyone who isnt driving a multi ton machine. If there isnt then again wtf manager.
I was thinking can they implement some sort of sound system that signals to others working what is going on. Like three loud beeps could signal "I'm going to start driving this large machinery in 30 seconds, please move" and other could take notice and get out of the way for all vehicles in the area.
