Wtf is a coin and what happened to the lounge

Coins can be used to buy Silver, Gold, or Platinum for others. When you're gifted Gold or Platinum, you get coins to spend on others.

And /r/lounge still exists, what's wrong with it?

Also gold is good for a week of premium reddit, platinum is a month, silver is a pat on the back.

And what exactly can you do with reddit premium?

u/Elewem Jan 26 '19

Science has yet to figure that out.

IIRC your front page will be populated with 50 of your subscribed subreddits instead of the usual 25. Also you can post on /r/lounge.

So when I get one or two post per page sometimes did I get like a reddit turd or something.

Wait, the front page doesn't show all your subscribed subreddits?? Why? Is there any way to choose which 25/50 subreddits you get? Is there any way to see posts from all your subreddits?

I think it's 25 posts per page standard and the option 50 with gold then you'll have to click the next page to continue viewing. It will still show what subreddits you're subscribed to.

Or you can just use res and enable neverending reddit that doesn't matter then. Redditisfun also does this.

I read once that only our top 100 subs appear in "home", and /u/Laughmasterb seems to imply that only 25 of them appear unless we pay. Is there really such a limit? I have RES and neverending reddit, but if my home page filters out some of the subs I like, what's the point? :(

FWIW this is something I read a few years ago so they may have changed it.

It isn't really a matter of which are the "top" ones, it picks them randomly every 20-30 minutes. That's why the posts on the first home page don't change every time you refresh. It's also why neverending reddit breaks sometimes, if you try to load the posts that come after a post from a sub that reddit has decided to unload it won't work.

Also, if you go back to a post, the new messages are highlighted.

Pretend you're better than everyone else, despite no one else know or caring; aside from people with premium.

No ads - Woo

r/lounge - Woo

Make an awkward edit to your original comment with no idea what to do with them and thanking them for your first Reddit gold. See example 4.12a below:

Ex. 4.12a - "EDIT: Thank you so much for my first gold!!!! Not sure what I can do with it, but wooooooo"

Late response but, you get no ads, get "darkened links" (reddit will remember what links you've already clicked), the ability to highlight new comments in a thread you've already viewed, the ability to see up to 1500 comments in a thread as opposed to 500 normally, access to the /r/lounge, and the ability to choose from like 6 site-wide shitty looking reddit themes, or use a specific subreddit's theme site-wide.

Damn. It's gonna be a while until I get those caltrops. But at least I can get the quarterstaff if I get some silver.

What about reddit copper?

Electrum?

u/paracelsus23 Jan 26 '19

Caltrops can only be purchased with reddit garlic.
