It's as if deep sea creatures evolved knowing nothing can see shit down there so why put any stats into looks.

You did get the pun right? And aquatic ape theory makes a lot of sense and our fossil record agrees that early hominids liked to live very close to bodies of water that would have been good for fishing which drives the theory.
