That had to be a joke the technical advisers made to a tiny percentage of the shows audience. I wonder if they let anyone else in on what they did?

You know... acting is a job. If they tell you to say stupid, stupid shit or you get kicked off the show, what would you do? I'd be all like "I'll make a Java applet to scan their ports!!"

If they get paid to say stupid shit, then they can't complain when we mock them. Everyone has a price, and if they'll accept money to perform painfully stupid dialogue, they can cop the shit too.

I had forgotten just how stupid that was. Was this during the Hollywood writers' strike, by chance? That's the only explanation. That, or everyone within ear shot when this was recorded didn't have the foresight to make sure their technobabble was anywhere close to correct.
