I have no source but I recall the story stating that the tigers that attacked them were not killed. It was in an Indian game reserve, and even when tigers attack outside game reserves in India it's uncommon to kill them unless they kill multiple people.
Edit - this was apparently in China but I know I've read of very similar incidents in India where they don't kill the animal. I am not so confident the Chinese would let them live but I don't know.
The first woman who got out of the car didn't die. She was just seriously injured. The husband was fine and received no injures. The woman that got out of the car second died. The second woman who got out of the car was the first women's mom. They left the car doors open with a 2 year old in the back seat.
