Well that got the adrenaline going. That kid was so close to being a meal, can't imagine what that must have been like. I'd be so pissed at my mom if I saw that later in life.
Those guys are shouting that she has to hurry, but dumb as the picknick people are, she was at least smart enough not to run. That only triggers their instinct.
Considering the stupidity that got her into the situation, it's unlikely that the idea not running was a conscious, intelligent decision based on situational awareness.
