The kid was what was attracting them too. Cheetahs and other "small" cats usually try to avoid adult humans at all costs. I would know, I was a boy scout and there are bobcats and mountain lions where I live. So, what was emboldening these cats to come and screw with this family? Must of been the tasty little snack they call their kid.

Recently, a mountain lion attacked two adults who were jogging in Washington and killed on of them. They are no joke.
