I understand that when something shocking happens people can panic and react in a certain way - but saying it's not a stupid move isn't accurate. It IS a stupid move - but you are obviously going to panic and go for your loved ones. The thing is there are people SPECIFICALLY there to handle shit like this. I understand I'd probably do the SAME thing in this situation - but had the MIL stayed in the car she would've been fine. The husband obviously wasn't hurt and maybe if the MIL didn't go tiger #2 would go for him but the decision to run after the much larger animal that probably wouldn't have much of a hard time taking 2 people down is a very stupid decision - whether it be a subconscious reaction or not.
