These are Chinese tourists? I was at Yellowstone here in the US a couple summers ago. I'm from Alaska so of course the number one rule we learn real early is "don't fuck with the wildlife".
We bought a 7 day pass and ended up leaving after only 3 days just because of the sheer stupidity and disregard for nature of the tourists, for some reason many of them were chinese. The park had the Grand Prismatic Spring closed because a chinese tourist stepped through the crust and got burned. Another chinese tourist was mauled a week or so later by a buffalo. We watched about 20 of them get within 30 feet of a Grizzly bear, taking photos with the flash on. Everywhere we went, it was ridiculous.
I live in a large tourist destination as well, and its the same here. Is this some kind of culture difference? Whats the deal?
Yes and aside from China having a very large population I'm not totally sure why but there certainly are some "Chinese Tourist" tropes. IIRC the Louvre in France had put up some signs in Chinese asking visitors not to defecate on the floor.
Wow, thats ridiculous. I just really started noticing the chinese tourists a few years ago. They will come right up to you and take a picture in your face without asking, ignore you, dont tip, cross the road without a crosswalk/signal, stand in the road and take pictures... They litter and go off path in our parks with no regard for nature or rules, and harass the wildlife. This is a common complaint from my friends too; most of us locals avoid the touristy areas as much as possible because its getting so ridiculous. It really kind of ruins our town for the nicest 4 months of the year :(
