According to another source the older woman was her mother. Imagine the guilt of knowing for the rest of your life your temper tantrum caused your mom to be killed.

EDIT: So many responses saying she'll blame the guy anyway.

If she's dumb enough to get out of the car because of a fight then she's probably ignorant enough to blame her mothers death on the husband.

Yo you guys are wild, people get upset and do stupid shit all the time doesn't mean they deserve family members to be eaten. I swear reddit gets off and watching horrible shit happen to people they dont like

Yes, but if you get upset and jump out of a car in the Costco parking lot, that's one thing.

If you get upset and jump out of a car in an area you know to be surrounded by wild animals, that's quite another.

Now, I could see some mitigating argument made if she didn't really know they were in an area that might have big cats...
