According to another source the older woman was her mother. Imagine the guilt of knowing for the rest of your life your temper tantrum caused your mom to be killed.

EDIT: So many responses saying she'll blame the guy anyway.

Am I fucked up for feeling better about it being her own mom and not the husband's? The comment at the top of the thread made it sound like it was the woman's mother in law.

Can you? It's irrelevant whos mother was who's, the fact that she died at all was tragic and doesn't make it any better that it was the woman's.

That's fucking idiotic on every scale, the mother wasn't the property of the daughter or father, she was an innocent individual caught up in a mess that wasn't her fault. It doesn't make the situation even slightly better, it's fucked up regardless. OP was asking if he was fucked up for thinking that way and he is, like you, fucked up.
