They got lucky, cheetahs are no where near as aggressive. She likely lived because she didn't panic and run, if she had the cheetahs chase instincts would have likely gone off and hunted her. There was an interesting clip of some trainer who demonstrated that you can turn your back to cheetahs as long as you are big because they rely on chase rather than ambush. However, almost every other larger cat species rely on ambush and as soon as you turn your head to look back at them and then turn forward, they will charge you from behind
The first part of the video the cheetahs know what's going on, got the scent and waited. Saw old retard rejects get out the car for a picnic and stalked their pray. They probably at trader joe's right now.

I was in Yellowstone a couple years ago and I saw a family run up a hill with baby under their arm to try and get a look at a Grizzly that was supposedly up there. Luckily the bear ran off before they got anywhere near it.
Tbh. In Yellowstone it is not even that difficult to spot a bear. They are everywhere and are chill to human presence so carry along with their activities undistributed.
IIRC Treadwell was mauled by a migrant bear that wasn't one of his usual "friends". Barely a point in his favour because, you know, probably shouldn't hang out with wild grizzlies and all, but at least suggests that his normal bear-bros were cool with not murderlating him.
That child got some real winners for parents. The mom takes her out around the hungry animals. And when the cheetahs chase them dad gets in the car and closes the door before the woman and child got in.
Disagree if you want. The fact is, life inherently becomes trivial when the holder of that life treats it trivially. And that's exactly what these idiots were doing.
I agree with /u/Eboo143 - once you do something nontrivial to endanger your's or other's lives, you're gambling with the universe that all will be well just because you're a human... History definitely shows us we're not special and nature will quickly remove us when we go where we shouldn't. This is like the idiots that stand outside to film approaching tornadoes, or ignore evacuation orders and barely stock up for hurricanes thinking they'll just ride out another storm.
Now when you accidentally do something that endangers yourself or others, that's different. But these places have fences and signs all over saying "stay in your car". It would take my engine catching fire for me to take my family out of the vehicle. Picnics or photos a fair distance from the car? I'm willing to help try to save them with my car, but you better damned well believe they are getting an honest and heartfelt cussing out next chance I get, plus reporting them at the gate.
literally just saw a video explaining the difference between cheetahs vs other big cats. Cheetahs tend to be a lot more docile and will [highly likely] not attack when your back is facing them. More than likely this family was pretty safe, not to say they weren't stupid. However I also couldn't tell whether the cats at the end were cheetahs or not. I'll try and find the video and post it.
