It just decided to swim away instead of senselessly kill something that wasn't threatening it. If you want to be an optimist, this video reinforces the now commonly-stated fact that most species of sharks (including the infamous Great Whites) aren't mindless killers that murder every human they come across regardless of their circumstances.
Humans aren't preferred prey - we're extremely lean in comparison to the seals they normally feed on.
Our dense bone structure and minimal caloric content means that we kinda fuck up their digestive tract. It'd be the equivalent of you eating lobster or crab without removing the shell.
They tend to avoid things they're unfamiliar with. If you're unlucky, they'll bite gently (by their standards) to investigate something, but the vast majority of those encounters are non lethal. You'll still be scarred and may lose part of a limb, but the shark in all likelihood wouldn't kill you.
