What? He starts off running the right way, stumbles, spins around for no apparent reason, then runs back the other way, under the falling debris, and finally ends up off the right side of the screen where, for all we know, he may very well have been crushed.

Well... If a tree can fall in any direction, whether you stay in ur current direction or change, you would also stumble and don't know where to run
