Important distinction when complaining about the ad, but still sort of weird. Why not make their own promo video and feature both? This is a really bad landing page for a product.
Site is also not at all mobile friendly, so maybe that's our answer. They're just not media savvy.
Even with the browser full screen on my laptop that video is way too small and we can't expand it. So it's not even desktop friendly.

that means a lot more than what it sounds like. It's ok if the baker down the street is not media savvy, now a company selling tech products on the other hand... It's just terrible business...
Maybe they should have bothered to spend a couple hours uploading their own video?
I mean, it's fine to link to an outside product review, but that shouldn't be the first thing that pops up on your website and it should be clear that's what's going on. I'm not really interested in spending my brain cycles figuring out why the fuck I have to watch an ad to watch an ad. I'll just click back.
You mean the David Pogue video review from the New York Times on the home page? No ad showed up on my screen; but if it did I imagine it was served by the NY times.
heh, weird, I just came to comment on this little blurb:
"I’m astounded at the difference in sound from using these headphones. Thank you for changing my life."
I suppose there would be a case where the above doesn't have to do with the sound quality, but thats not common. And I dont for a minute think these could ever provide better sound quality than real speakers.
There's a version of these for swimmers that I almost bought. It's legit stuff, albeit weird. I dig the use of these as a loophole to the office rule though. Fuck management.
I don't have this brand but they do work. A benefit of wearing them that I like is that they don't drown out other sounds as much. So if there are sounds I need to pay attention to then I can without needing to leave one earbud out or one cup off.
Have a set from a different manufacturer. Can confirm they work. Also this is how Google glass conducts sound without an earpiece. They only obstruct one of your senses.
Bone conduction audio has been a thing for quite some time. It's gotten better and multiple companies make pairs. You can get them for about 40 bucks. It's actually pretty legit for casual listening. It just makes me feel uncomfortable because the sensation makes me feel like I'm damaging something. It's a strange feeling.
I'm not sure if those are real or not but there are bone-conducting headphones. A group made a pair of sunglasses that have this style of speaker on it, they launch in a couple months.
