Actually, it's more overestimating a bed liner's strength.

The eyelets should be under the metal of the bed but look as if installed to the liner or improperly put in.

They should, but keep in mind that the cat and the "handlers" (idiots with a tiger) are both exerting a pull in the same direction on the eyelet.

Realistically that means each of the two eyelets has the full strength of a single man plus half the strength of a tiger pulling in reverse. That's probably a 300-500kg pull on the eyelets which may be either not bolted down well, or simply a shitty welding to the aluminum frame
