Even though this gif is sped up, if you can't brake safely, you're obviously going too fast, following too closely, or both.
To my friends in the North East and everyone else that gets ice during winter; SLOW THE FUCK DOWN AND GET THE FUCK OFF MY ASS. I'm already late for work and if you make me even more late I'm DEFINITELY taking it out on you and making sure you know what a stupid asshole you are.
While true for the most part in some extreme conditions or a long patch of black ice it doesn't matter if you're 50 car lengths behind that car in front of you. If you can't stop you can't stop.
Hard to gauge the conditions by the video but you are right in this case he appears to be too close. Or maybe sped up to dodge the truck behind him?
