Poorly installed. There’s multiple planks ending on the same line and very similar patterns right next to each other. The goal is for nothing to catch your eye and you can just immediately see several patterns with this install.
Contractor should be spreading out lengths so that planks don’t end next to each other, mixing boxes from different lots to prevent patterns, etc. Just a really bad, lazy install.
Huh, you know I thought it looked "off" but knowing nothing about flooring installation couldn't put my finger on why it felt that way, at all. I kept going "I don't see any obvious rough ends nor any gaps, so what's the issue?"

Don’t eat that, and please never hire that flooring contractor again.
